The 2025 scheduled maintenance for the Three Gorges Ship Lift began Monday, marking the fifth annual check-up since its operation. The inspection covers over 60 items across seven major systems, including structural mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical components, and is planned to last 35 days.
As one of the world’s largest and most technically challenging ship lift, the Three Gorges Ship Lift can rapidly lift vessels with a displacement of up to 3,000 metric0 tons over the dam.
