Four People Awarded as Excellent International Employees

Four foreign employees have been recognized by the 2018 Excellent International Employee Award, an award promoted by the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), that recognizes employees of the company in several parts of the world for excellence in performance.
The four employee including Cesar Teodoro, Ignacio Herrero Ruiz, Chanthavidate Thammavong and Francis Anandi, received the award on January 27 in Yichang of Hubei province in China, where Three Gorges Dam is located.
They thanked for the award, reinforcing the importance of the exchange of knowledge and expertise between China and the country where they work.
Teodoro from CTG Brasil talked about his long-standing relationship with the hydropower stations.
"My life, not only professional, has a very strong connection with the Jupiá and Ilha Solteira HPPs, because I saw these plants being built,” he said, adding that these Hydropower plants are reference projects in the Brazilian energy generation market. The major modernization project reinforces CTG's long-term commitment to the country and our concern with safety, excellence and reliability of our assets.
"We are working hard today to build a better future. I am very proud to be part of CTG Brasil and everything we have done so far, thank you so much, CTG!" he said.
Ruiz from CTG Europe said he has been attached to CTG since 2011 when the company tries to buy a major stake from EDP, a global energy company, leader in the utilities sector the world’s fourth-largest wind energy producer.
He has seen the company shifted into a leading international player in renewables and enjoying a high level of recognition from other international peers.
“It has been a great honour for me to participate in this transition and over the past 3 years even more closely as a proud employee of the company.” he said. “I am convinced that CTG will continue being an active player within the current reshaping of the sector as it moves into a business model in which digitalisation becomes critical. The new sector challenges will provide opportunities for CTG and its employees to enrich their skill-set and develop new know-how that ensure the Company remains at the forefront of the sector.”
Chanthavidate Thammavong from China International Water & Electric Corporation(CWE), a company under CTG said that he feels satisfied and content to work together with Chinese colleagues from CTG and he has learnt a lot from them.
“Seven years ago, when I was still an intern working in the hydropower project in Laos, the company is just like a big family. I felt warm, caring and challenge. Now, I have to say that what I have achieved today is all because of the support and help from my colleagues and supervisors.” he said.
Francis Anandi, also from CWE, who was flying over half of the earth to China, thanked for being able to come to the long-awaited place in Yichang.
Anandi from Ghana Road Project said being an ordinary earthwork foreman, he felt honored to get the award.
“I will work harder and try my best to set a good example within the Ghanaian workers' group, and do my contribution for our company's overseas business development in Ghana!” he said.
