Output of Hubei Energy Group’s Ezhou subsidiary hits 10 billion kWh

Output of Hubei Energy Group’s Ezhou subsidiary exceeded 10 billion kWh for the first time in 2019 on August 27, up 102.5 percent from a year earlier, or equivalent to one-third of the total electricity consumption in Hubei Province this year, marking a key milestone in the development history of the subsidiary.
Since the beginning of summer, the continuous high temperature has placed great pressure on power supply of Hubei Power Grid. Electricity load in nine cities of the province hit a record high with a maximum supply gap of about 2 million kilowatts.
As the largest thermal power company in Hubei, Ezhou subsidiary worked in full load to cope with the challenge posed by peak power demand. Six power units at the subsidiary kept operating for 31 days simultaneously with the maximum peak daily load hitting 80 million kWh.
