Three Gorges shiplock celebrates first anniversary of 100% security inspection of passing ships

The Three Gorges Complex celebrated the first anniversary for 100% security inspection of passing ships on June 1. Over the past year, the navigation division inspected a total of 54,610 ships passing the ship lock, effectively guaranteeing the lockage and security of water area while improving the efficiency of safe navigation at the complex.
The Three Gorges Navigation Administration set up three marine patrol brigades on June 1, 2018 to perform 100% security inspection on all ships passing ship locks and shiplifts at the Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam.
The past year saw an average of 149 ships per day undergoing security inspection without errors. According to statistics, the passing volume of cargos at the Three Gorges Complex hit about 60 million tons from January to May 2019, up 11.77% from a year ago.
