Karot Hydropower Project: concrete pouring at dam core wall completed

Karot Hydropower Project in Pakistan, invested and built by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), completed concrete pouring at Section #44 of the dam’s asphalt core wall concrete pedestal on May 24.
The dam core wall pedestal is an important part of the dam structure, which is about 510 meters in length 2 meters in thickness, and consists of 64 sections. It has taken 12 months to complete the concrete pouring work for Section #44 which started in May 2018.
The completion of the pedestal makes the working surfaces of the foundation grouting on the left and right banks of the dam connected. Based on current progress, the filling work for the dam’s asphalt core wall is slated to start in August 2019.
