120,000 fries of 2nd-generation Chinese sturgeons propagated at CTG institute
Date: 2019-11-11

Chinese Sturgeon Research Institute affiliated to China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) announced that it has succeeded in artificial propagation on a group of first-generation farmed Chinese sturgeons in Huangbai River Base in Yichang on October 31, yielding 270,000 fertilized eggs, making another breakthrough after the previous success on October 13.
The institute has bred about 120,000 quality second-generation fries as of November 6. The wholly-artificial propagation makes a historical high in yielded eggs and fries and is strong evidence that the institute has fully grasped the technology.
CTG Chinese Sturgeon Research Institute said it will continue the research on Chinese sturgeons protection, increase the investment on technology and innovation, and provide a more powerful support for the protection of Chinese sturgeons.
