Date: 2020-02-10
Hubei Energy Natural Gas, a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), is stepping up efforts to source more gas and boosting gas supply to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in Hubei, the worst-hit province in China.
Hubei Energy Natural Gas is now serving as a natural gas resource regulation platform in Hubei and has worked closely with upstream and downstream partners to increase gas supply to Wuhan and other areas severely hit by the epidemic.
The company sourced another 10 million m3 of gas and maximized the capacity of its eight long-distance gas pipelines to meet the additional gas demand in the province.
The annualized gas transmission of the company reached 340 million m3 as of Feburary 7, accounting for over 30 percent of the total gas consumption in Hubei, of which, the natural gas supplied to Wuhan hit 183 million m3, accounting for more than half of the total supply in the provincial capital.
