CTG makes progress at Three Gorges Dam’s sewage treatment plant

China Three Gorges Corp. (CTG)’s logistics arm recently completed debugging the bio-reaction pool as part of the rejigging project of the sewage treatment plant, laying a solid foundation for further expanding capacity of the plant at Three Gorges Dam area.

The project, a key component of Yangtze River protection initiative, completed civil work and equipment installation last year, ahead of the trial operation. With an installed capacity of up to 10,000 m3 from 5,000 m3, the project further improves the sewage treatment capacity in the Three Gorges area.

A 70-day test showed the bio-reaction pool’s sewage treatment result reached Level 1A standard of urban sewage treatment plants on March 1, marking the end of debugging work and the beginning of the operational stage.
