CTG-funded Pengze sewage treatment plant completes first phase upgrade

Pengze Sewage Treatment Plant, funded and built by Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corp (CTG), was put into trial operation as scheduled on March 15 after finishing its initial phase upgrade, making it the first sewage treatment plant entering trial operation in Jiangxi as part of the Yangtze River protection initiative.

Pengze Sewage Treatment Plant, which mainly services downtown of the city, has been enlisted as one of the demonstration projects along the coastline of Yangtze River in Jiangxi by Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd.

After the upgrade, the plant will be able to process up to 22,500 tons of sewage daily, an increase of 50 percent, greatly improving the project’s treatment capacity and the  urban environment with the quality of discharged water elevated from Grade B to Grade A.
