CTG’s Baihetan hydropower station begins placement of diversion tunnel

Baihetan hydropower station, owned by China Three Gorge Corporation (CTG) commenced the first concrete placement for no. 5 diversion tunnel in March, marking another step forward in the project.

The project will build 5 diversion tunnels, which are being constructed to block the upstream water, and will carry on an impoudment by stages following an approved construction plan. The impoundment is the first stage of the whole diversion process.
