Daily traffic of Three Gorges-dedicated roads exceeds 10,000 trips in 2019

The total traffic of Three Gorges-dedicated roads exceeded 3.66 million trips in 2019, an increase of 70 percent compared with the traffic measured in 2015 when the roads were not made widely available to the public.

The daily traffic in 2019 exceeded 10,027 trips, 11.4 percent above the designed traffic capacity. The Three Gorges-dedicated roads are operating smoothly with all transportation facilities and equipment working in a safe and sound condition.

Serving as a lifeline and secured access for Three Gorges Project in emergencies, the roads have been playing a positive role in ensuring the massive hydropower project fully unleashes its benefits.
