Qingjiang cascade hydropower plant generates 1.3 TWh of electricity in Q1 2020

Qingjiang hydropower plant, built and operated by China Three Gorges Corp (CTG)’s Hubei Energy, generated 1.3 TWh of electricity in the first quarter this year, 8.7 percent more than the historical average. The cascade hydropower plant posted brisk performance in March, generating 0.761 TWh of electricity, almost double the amount from a year earlier.
With a total installed capacity of 3.36 GW, Qingjiang hydropower plant is currently the largest hydropower station in central and eastern China, except the Three Gorges Dam. During the epidemic, the plant area has operated under the most stringent management with on-site required to work in shifts.
