China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd, a listed arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), launched a joint eco-scheduling experiment across three dams on May 22, the latest in a long line of green initiatives in the region.

Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba and Three Gorges dams are participating in the experiment aimed at creating a favorable water environment in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River to help the reproduction of fishes with pelagic eggs including four major farmed species in the region.

Following years of eco-scheduling and integrated measures for protecting resources, the total eggs spawned by the four major farmed species in the Yangtze River are showing an upward trend. Eggs of those species in the Yidu section of the lower reaches of Yangtze River from Gezhouba reached 3 billion in 2019, up from 25 million in 2011.
