Hydraulics at Baihetan hydropower station pass acceptance tests

Baihetan hydropower station, owned and operated by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), completed acceptance testing of its left bank No.1 and right bank NO.9 stop gate hydraulic headstock gears on June 4 and June 5. The testing was conducted at Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

The two gears are currently the largest hydraulic headstock gears in terms of capacity. With a total weight of roughly 105 tons, they are able to maintain an eye-popping maximum force of 12,500 kilonewtons when the lock is being lowered.
