CTG’s Geheyan hydropower plant sets new record for daily power generation
Date: 2020-07-06

Geheyan hydropower plant, owned by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), has set a new record for daily power generation on June 27 after it was first commissioned 27 years ago.
Geheyan, operated by Hubei Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s Qingjiang subsidiary, generated 29 million kWh of electricity, surpassing the previous record set three years ago.
The company said it has proactively reserved storage capacity for possible subsequent floods after five consecutive rounds of precipitation occurred in the Qingjiang River basin on June 8. The plant kept four power units on full-load operation from June 20 to reduce the water level of the Geheyan reservoir.
