CTG to kick off 2nd phase of Yangtze River Protection’s first new sewage plant

Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. (YEE), the environment business arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), has recently made progress with regards to the construction of the Fenghuangqiao Sewage Treatment Plant, a new type of sewage treatment plant being built as part of its the Yangtze River Protection initiative.

On September 1, YEE hosted a workshop in Lu'an city, Anhui Province, in which a number of proposals for the second phase of the plant’s construction were considered. Experts in the fields of ecological environmental protection and sewage treatment discussed the proposals, technical route, technological process and economic evaluation of the new sewage treatment plant.

The project will adopt a series of innovative design concepts including new primary treatment, highly adaptive biochemical system, integrated photovoltaic power generation mode and intelligent control. Together, these features will ensure that the plant delivers sustainable water quality, resource recovery, self-sustaining energy, environmental friendliness, flexible adaptation and intelligent integrated operation.

Upon completion, the Fenghuangqiao Sewage Treatment Plant will be a model for other wastewater treatment plants in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
