Xiangjiaba shiplift crosses 1 million tons of cargo milestone in 2020

Xiangjiaba shiplift, built and owned by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), has achieved another staggering milestone on October 23, handling over 1 million tons of cargo in 2020.

In 2020, the shiplift has operated its lifting chamber more than 2,346 times, carrying 2,480 ships and 1,009,755 tons of cargo over 219 days to October 23.

Since it was put into trial operation on May 26, 2018, Xiangjiaba power plant has been providing technological support for the long-term safe operation of the shiplift while also tapping into its navigational potential.
