Karot hydropower station in Pakistan completes concrete placement for powerhouse

The Karot hydropower project in Pakistan, constructed by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), continues to make significant progress, with the concrete placement for its facilities completed on October 26.

The station, which is home to diversion-type ground powerhouse, will have four 180-MW Francis turbine generators and a total installed capacity of 720 MW upon completion. The Phase II concrete placement for the facilities’ turbine cases and generator floor started on November 28, 2019, and lasted for 334 days, with a total of 25,349 cubic meters of concrete poured.
