Gezhouba power plant celebrates 40th anniversary

Gezhouba power plant celebrated its 40th anniversary on November 24.Gezhouba is a major water complex that facilitates flood control and prevention in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River by retaining flood water, reducing and shifting flood peaks.

As of September 30, 2020, the plant has generated more than 580 billion kWh of electricity and produced electricity of 37.7555 billion kWh through water saving. The green electricity it has generated is equivalent to saving 178.4 million tons of standard coal and reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide by 487.8 million tons and 17.4 million tons respectively.
