Wudongde hydropower plant commissions fifth power unit

Wudongde hydropower plant has put its NO.9 power unit into operation on November 24 after successfully completing 72-hour trial operation, becoming the fifth 850-MW generator that has been commissioned.

Equipped with 12 units of 850-MW generator, Wudongde hydropower plant is the fourth largest in China and seventh largest in the world in terms of total installed capacity.  The plant delivers benefits such as electricity generation, flood control and shipping, powering local economic and social development.
