CTG commissions an integrated hydro-meteorological observation system in Guangdong

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) announced that it has commissioned its first integrated hydro-meteorological observation system for far and deep offshore wind farms on December 17 in Yangjiang, Guangdong province.

The observation system comprises a 10-meter diameter floating platform, installed with the first fully localized LIDAR wind detection device that enables long-term fixed-point observation of offshore wind profiles.

It is the first time that CTG has conducted comprehensive hydro-meteorological observation for far and deep offshore wind farms with the fully domestically produced floating wind and current detection equipment, ensuring independence and control in observation signal collection, inversion compensation algorithm and equipment operation and maintenance.
