Three Gorges Dam attracts over 1 million tourists in 2020

The Three Gorges Dam received more than one million tourists in 2020, surpassing its annual target.
The Three Gorges Dam tourism area was shut down on January 24, 2020 after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and resumed business with restrictions since March 30 when the pandemic was largely put under control then.
The Three Gorges Dam tourism area, with all the prevention and control measures in place, received one million and 4,800 tourists in the year, according to its operator China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG).
The real-name ticket reservation and access system, implemented at the tourism area for the purpose of controlling the pandemic, has played a big role in accomplishing its annual operator targets.
The tourism area has adopted an integrated smart tourism management system to enable real-time data integration and transmission, operation status monitoring, event management and response, information dissemination, data analysis, etc., to achieve real-time control of the traffic and pre-warning, which has significantly improved scientific management, winning acclaim in the industry.
