Date: 2021-01-04

Wudongde hydropower plant, owned and operated by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), announced on December 18, 2020 that it had generated a total of 12.7 TWh of clean power since its first batch of units were put into operation in June, completing its annual power generation goal ahead of schedule.
Wudongde hydropower plant is equipped with 12 hydro-generator units, each having a capacity of 85 MW, bringing its total installed capacity to 10.2 GW.
The hydropower station, the world’s seventh biggest, will be able to generate 38.9 billion kwh of electricity per year after its 12 generating units start operation.
Since its first batch of generators was commissioned on June 29, the clean electricity generated by the massive dam has been supplied to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area 2020, powering the economic and social development in the region.
