China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) held an open day event in the Three Gorges Dam area on April 24, the first time that CTG has ever held an activity of this kind. People including well-known experts and scholars, representatives of other enterprises, teachers and students, were invited to have a closer look at the Three Gorges Project, the world's largest hydropower project in terms of capacity.

They visited the Three Gorges Dam, the power plant, the museum, the Yangtze River Rare Fish Conservation Center, the Three Gorges Rare Plant Research Institute and other places to have a full understanding of CTG.

CTG’s open day event is an important window for public communication, which allows the public to walk into the Three Gorges dam and learn more about the company as well as the enormous comprehensive benefits of the Three Gorges Project.

The Three Gorges Project is a key project to harness, develop and protect the Yangtze River. It has enormous comprehensive benefits such as flood control, power generation, navigation and water resources utilization. The construction and operation of the Three Gorges Project has fundamentally changed the situation of flood control in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and opened a new chapter in flood control and water resources management of the Yangtze River.

The continuous supply of clean energy generated by the project plays an irreplaceable role in building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and makes outstanding contributions to promoting green power production and ecological environmental protection in China.
