CWE signs grid expansion contract with Peru

China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), said it has signed a contract with Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines for a grid expansion project in Cajamarca Region on April 19, local time.

Upon completion, the project will greatly alleviate the power shortage in the northern region of Peru, supplying power for local people and businesses and powering the development of local resources and economic growth.

Located in the Andean region of northern Peru, the project plans to build 266 km of main transmission lines and 92 km of branch lines while optimizing 80 km of existing lines.
