Date: 2021-04-30

Baihetan hydropower plant, owned by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), announced that it has finished hoisting the rotor for its No. 13 power unit on the right bank on April 25, signaling that it has completed rotor hoisting for eight out of the 16 power units, each with a capacity of 1 GW.
The rotor is the rotating component of the hydraulic generator. The rotor of the power unit on the right bank at Baihetan hydropower plant has an outer diameter of around 16.5 meters and a maximum height of around 4.1 meters, making it the heaviest core component of the power unit.
The No.13 power unit now enters the final assembly stage after rotor was hoisted. Baihetan hydropower plant is making smooth progress in installing and commissioning the power units and on track to reach the goal of putting the first generators into operation by July 1.
The completion of the rotor hoisting for half of its power generators also paves the way for the hydropower plant to commission all power units by 2022.
