CTG completes 100 single-pile foundations for Jiangsu offshore wind farm

China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., the alternative energy arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), announced that it has completed the construction of all the 100 single-pile foundations at its H6 offshore wind power project in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province on June 18.

Meanwhile, the flexible DC transmission project of the offshore wind farm also successfully completed the first sliding for the pier, laying the foundation for the smooth loading and installation of the upper blocks of the follow-up offshore converter station and for floatover.

The wind power project is located 50 kilometers offshore, with planned installation of 100 4MW wind turbines with single-pile foundation. Since the commencement of its construction in May 2020, the project management team has overcome various difficulties, such as short construction window and tight supply of single-pile foundation materials as well as ship engine-room resources. The completion of the construction of all the foundations for wind turbines and the first successful sliding of the upper blocks of the offshore converter station delivered solid progress for the project, taking it a step closer towards the goal of generating power at full capacity in 2021.
