Fujian Offshore Wind Power program connecting to smart micro-grid project
Date: 2021-11-05
The Fujian Three Gorges Offshore Wind Power International Industrial Park, successfully put 2 high-power test wind turbines into operation for its smart micro-grid project on November 3.
The project consists of one 7-MW wind turbine and one 8-MW wind turbine. The two turbines are currently the largest onshore wind turbines operating in China as well as the first distributed wind power project operating in Fujian Province. They can maintain daily power supply for enterprises in the park, and are also essential part of domestic efforts of ensuring electricity production and supply.
After the two turbines are put into operation, the station will generate 48 million kWh of electricity a year, which is equivalent to saving about 14,664 tons of standard coal and cutting over 33,768 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, delivering significant social and environmental benefits.
