Located between the municipalities of Ilha Solteira (SP) and Selvíria (MS), the station supplied power to a city around 4 million and 600 thousand inhabitants last year.

“I've always perceived that this activity was carried out with great care, dedication, respect and safety. It is very pleasant to accompany visitors who are always attentive and eager to learn more about the operation of a plant”, said Marcelo Milan de Sousa, an employee of CTG Brasil, who conducts the Visits Program, bringing the public closer to history and operation of hydropower projects. “On the one hand, we generate energy; on the other hand, I really feel that people are our energy. Each visit offers me a new experience, a new learning experience”

Marcelo’s passion for his profession is also transferred to his daily work. “The cycle of friendships I made here is very special and I feel like I've gained a second family. I'm always willing to help, and my co-workers know they can count on me”, he says.

As a curiosity, Milan shared that part of his childhood was marked by numerous visits to the Wildlife Conservation Center, also known as the Ilha Solteira Zoo, currently managed by our company. “This environment makes my work even more rewarding and, soon, when the pandemic situation is more under control, I hope to share these experiences with our visitors”, he concludes.

Congratulations to the Ilha Solteira HPP and to all the professionals who, like Marcelo Milan, are part of this beautiful story.
