CTG completes installation of rotor for the NO.2 power unit in Pakistan’s Karot project

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) announced that it has installed the rotor for the NO.2 power unit in the Karot hydropower project in Pakistan on August 8, a milestone that lays a solid foundation for the subsequent final assembly and scheduled commissioning.

The hoisting operation, which saw the rotor slowly hoisted from the assembling chamber and then precisely placed into the turbine pit, took 45 minutes.

The Karot hydropower project has installed 4 hydraulic generators with a rated power of 180 MW, whose rotors have a diameter of 13.04 meters and a height of 1.84 meters, and the hoisting weight of a single rotor and lifting appliance reaches 680 tons.
