Wudongde HPP ’s fish collection and transport vessel runs successful trial voyage

Last week，Wudongde hydropower station announced that its Jiaoping vessel has successfully transported and released nearly 100 collected rare and unique fish of Jinsha River to the reservoir on its first trial voyage , marking the completion and commissioning of the last facility of the fish collection and transport system of the station.
Jiaoping vessel, an important part of the fish collection and transport system of the station, is designed to transport and release the fish collected in the lower reaches of the dam to a proper location in the reservoir area.
"The vessel for fish transport and release ran smoothly during its trial voyage. Its equipment, such as the turbine, electrical appliances, and the outfitting, was in sound condition. The water temperature, oxygen content, and PH value of the temporary cabin for fish complied with the design requirements," said Wan Bo from the Materials and Equipment Department of Wudongde Project Construction Group of CTGPC, CTG's subsidiary.
In order to protect the aquatic life in the Jinsha River and promote the migration of rare and unique fish in Wudongde hydropower station, CTG pioneered the tailwater fixed collection and transport system in the station. "Up to now, the tailwater fish collection and transport system of Wudongde hydropower station has successfully collected more than 30,000 fish," said Gu Gongkai, deputy director of the engineering construction department of the station. "The successful commissioning of the vessel for fish transport and release will further enhance the operation capacity of the system. In the next step, we will further step up scientific experiments, and optimize the operation mode of the fish collection and transport system to improve the efficiency of fish collection and transport."
