CTG-owned Changlongshan pumped storage power station commissions NO.3 power unit

Changlongshan pumped storage power plant in Zhejiang Province, funded and constructed by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), officially commissioned its NO.3 generator on December 30, 2021, after a 15-day test run, making it the third power unit the power station has put into operation since June.
Located in Anji, Zhejiang, the station has a total of 6 350,000-kilowatt reversible pump turbines, with a total installed capacity of 2.1 million kilowatts. Once in full operation, it will record an annual output of 2.435 billion kWh. It will mainly undertake the tasks of peak load regulation, valley filling, frequency regulation, phase modulation and emergency use for the East China Grid, and promote the smooth integration of renewable energy sources like wind power and photovoltaics. It plays a significant role in building a low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system that mainly utilizes renewable energy.
