CTG starts installation for 2,000-ton installation platform for offshore wind farm

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) commenced installation for "Baihetan" vessel, a 2,000-ton self-elevating and self-propelling installation platform for offshore wind farm, on February 21.

"Baihetan" is the first 2,000-ton fourth-generation installation platform for offshore wind farm designed and built in China. The vessel is about 126 meters long, 50 meters wide, and 10 meters deep.

With advanced design and high power, the platform is used for the installation of offshore wind turbines with a capacity of 10 MW or above, accommodating the needs of future integrated offshore high-capacity construction operations.
