CTG wins approval for largest wind farm in Sichuan

China Three Gorges Corporation announced that its Jinlin wind power project, the single largest wind farm by installed capacity in Sichuan province, was approved on March 3, becoming CTG’s first wind power project green-lit in the province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Located in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan province, and with a total installed capacity of 200 MW, the Jinlin project is scheduled to deploy 40 units of 3.3-MW wind turbines and 20 units of 6.45-MW wind turbines, as well as a booster station and on-site collecting lines.

Upon completion, the wind farm will deliver about 447 million kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to saving 143,200 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 370,000 tons. The project is expected to create solid economic, social and environmental benefits, including improvement in local energy structure and ecological environment.
