Three Gorges Dam runs at full capacity for the first time this year

On June 28, all 34 generator units of the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station started running at full capacity for the first time this year. The project’s peak output that day exceeded 21 million kilowatts; and the daily power output reached nearly 500 million kWh.

If a family of three consumes 100 kWh of electricity a month on average, 500 million kWh of electricity is enough to meet the monthly electricity demand of about five million households.
