A new-green look showed at the Three Gorges Reservoir

Recently, the Pianyanzi hydro-fluctuation belt in the upper reaches of the Three Gorges Reservoir area showed a new look. In the past, once the water level drops, the hydro-fluctuation belt was exposed barely, while now the area is rejuvenated with a harmonious green scene.

It is worth mentioning that Myricaria laxiflora, an endangered national second-class protected wild flora can be seen in the green belt, thanks to the CTGers' hard efforts in scientific research. Being resistant to both flooding and drought, this species could find its ideal growth environment there. Since 2003, CTG has successfully cultivated over 50,000 seedlings, of which about 3,000 have been reintroduced and resettled along the Yangtze River which sets a good example for both ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation.
