"I hope these little saplings will grow up quickly and make my hometown more beautiful," said Ms. Anong, a local student who participated in the tree planting activity held by the CTG near its Nam Lik 1-2 hydropower station in central Laos. The activity saw digging holes, placing seedlings, filling soil and watering, with more than 1,000 saplings being planted along the Mekong riverside.

Nam Ngiep2 Power Co. Ltd, a CTG subsidiary, also organized tree planting and fish releasing activities recently. More than 3,500 saplings were planted and 30,000 fish fries were released into the Nam Sen River in northeastern Laos.

During the past two decades in Laos, CTG has planted more than 18,000 trees and released about 440,000 fish fries in the watershed and reservoir area. CTG is committed to enriching biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance locally, so as to contribute to the efforts of making the country’s mountains greener, water cleaner, and ecological environment better.
