"The achievements of the Karot project came from the joint efforts of all constructors," said Chen Weimin, the Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Karot project.

Chen Weimin has been engaged in hydropower work for 20 years. He has participated in the construction of several world-class hydropower projects, such as Xiluodu and Baihetan, which endowed him with rich experience in practice and management. During his work, he had to maintain constant communications with several relevant parties, like local government, engineers, technical consultants, etc. Every time of communication and collision of ideas made him love the project more.

He is not only impressed by how the Karot hydropower station was built from an obscure hill but also remembers how engineers went from being overwhelmed by technical problems to working side by side and setting an example for similar projects. “I am deeply attached to the Karot project. And participating in the construction works of the Karot project is an unforgettable memory of my life,” Chen said.
