Xiangjiaba ship lift improves efficiency and safety

Since the trial operation of the Xiangjiaba ship lift began on May 26, 2018, the ship lift, constructed and operated by CTG, has achieved a safe operation for more than 1,230 days this September, carried out more than 12,520 safe operations and transported 12,430 vessels with a cargo capacity of nearly 5.04 million tonnes.

The Xiangjiaba ship lift is located at the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, a tributary of the Yangtze river. It not only improves navigation conditions on the Jinsha River but also contributes to the development of Southwest China and the Yangtze River economic belt.

The Xiangjiaba ship lift has a total length of about 1,530 meters and a lifting height of 114.2 meters. A thousand-tonne cargo ship only takes 32 minutes to pass through the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station.
