The environmental monitoring system installed at CTG’s Gezhouba ship locks has already operated 24/7, which is used to assess the data needed for rational management of qualified fuel oil and make sure that there’s no oil leakage. This marked that the key section of the Yangtze River, the three gorges section, has realized the real-time monitoring of the pollution of passing ships.
By adopting this system, the engineers could detect and collect pollution-related data uninterruptedly. In the future, this system will add an early warning mechanism to prevent ships, with oil leakage or using fuel oil that does not meet the standards, from entering the river. The system will thus better protect the ecological environment of the Yangtze River.
