World's largest wind power and PV base project commenced construction
Date: 2023-01-06
The world's largest wind power and photovoltaic base project, which is developed by CTG, commenced construction in the Kubuqi Desert in Ordos, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Dec. 28. It is the first 10-million-kW new-energy power plant being constructed in China.
Located in China's 7th largest desert, the project has a total installed capacity of 16 million kW, including 8 million kW of photovoltaic power, 4 million kW of wind power, and other energy resources.
Upon completion, the project will generate about 40 billion kWh of electricity for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region annually. Meanwhile, it will also improve local ecology, boost economic development, and drive the development of emerging industrial clusters of photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, and digitalization.
