Located in Jiangsu Province, China, this plant can process 20,000 tonnes of sewage every day. The treated water meets drinking water standards and can even be used to brew coffee and beer!
In addition to wastewater recovery, the plant powers itself with electricity generated by biogas produced by sludge from sewage plants and manure from surrounding livestock farms. The biogas residue produced is transformed into organic fertilizer and nutrient-rich soil.
