Public open day at the Karot hydropower project

A public open day has been held at the Karot hydropower project, a major pilot project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on June 12. 

More than 25 members from the local community of Karot Hydropower Project, including school children, teachers, and locals participated. During the project tour, the community members visited the viewing platform, the spillway and the dam structure.

To further enhance the spirit of community engagement, the Karot Project team organized a series of exciting indoor games, including Tug-of-War, Cricket, and Race Competitions.

Liu Yonggang, CEO of China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Limited (CSAIL) made a welcome speech and not only said that the Karot Project will act as a bridge of friendship between the people of Pakistan and China, but also that the gates of Karot are wide open for the local community.

The day culminated with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners and participants were awarded Karot Souvenirs and gift packs as tokens of appreciation.
