The world's first 16-megawatt offshore wind turbine sets a new record for daily power generation per unit
Date: 2023-09-05
The world's first 16-megawatt offshore wind turbine at CTG's offshore wind farm in Fujian, China, set a new record for single-turbine daily power generation on September 1. The turbine reached maximum wind speeds of 23.56 m/s, generated 384,100 kWh after 24-hour full-power operation, enough to power nearly 170,000 households daily.
CTG's 16-megawatt wind turbine, the world's largest single wind turbine, is equipped with a 146-meter hub, which is as tall as a 50-storey building. It has an impeller with a diameter of 252 meters, the largest in the world, and the lightest weight per megawatt.
