Luz del Sur partnered with Siemens to automate the Los Sauces high voltage substation

Recently, CTG's Luz del Sur partnered with Siemens to automate the Los Sauces high voltage substation, benefiting over 1.2 million users. By adopting a SIPROTEC 5 process bus system, the project significantly enhanced digitalization, accelerated installation and commissioning, improved reliability, strengthened workplace safety, and created a future-proof benchmark substation.

Luz del Sur's head of transmission engineering and construction, Renzo Navarro, said the digital protection and control systems will lift supply efficiency and reliability to a new level, representing a major step for Peru in grid modernization and improving customer service.
