The Baihetan hydropower station transitions to operational phase

On January 31, the Baihetan hydropower station completed its transition from the construction phase to the operational phase. The 300-meter-high double-curved concrete arch dam took 1,511 days to build.

With a total installed capacity of 16 GW, the project is expected to generate 62,443 GWh of clean energy annually, benefiting 65 million people for their annual consumption, saving 19.68 million tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon emissions by about 51.60 million tonnes.
