The world's highest-altitude wind farm surpasses 200 million kWh of electricity
Date: 2024-02-22
The cumulative amount of electricity produced by the world's highest-altitude wind farm, the 72.6 MW CTG Zhegu Wind Farm in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, has surpassed 200 million kWh. This accomplishment can benefit 140,000 households, saving 60,000 tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon emissions by about 160,000 tonnes.
Situated around 5,000 meters above sea level on the northern slope of the Himalayas, the project helps optimize Xizang's energy structure, alleviate local power shortages, and facilitate rural revitalization and sustainable development.
