CTG’s watershed management protects Asia's largest urban lake

Date: 2024-04-16

In the midst of Asia's largest urban lake, Tangxun Lake in Wuhan City, central China's Hubei Province, lies a remarkable "green flower"—an artificial floating wetland. This innovative installation spans approximately 5,000 square meters. Beneath the water's surface, EHBR membrane technology is employed, renowned for its robust in-situ pollutant removal capabilities.

Furthermore, the surrounding lake area boasts 57 smart diversion wells crucial for ensuring that all sewage during sunny days and most pollutants during rainy days are channeled to sewage treatment plants.

"Watershed management isn't merely about treating a single river or lake; it involves a systematic approach to managing the entire watershed defined by the drainage divide," explained Liu Longzhi, an engineer of CTG,.

CTG has been deeply involved in Wuhan and other cities along the river, using the watershed as the fundamental unit to systematically conduct water resource management, water environment treatment and aquatic ecology conservation, thus achieving comprehensive management and protection of the Yangtze River basin.
