Hydraulic test for volute of 1st unit of Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station completed
Date: 2024-06-21
Recently, the first unit of the Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station in Tiantai county, east China's Zhejiang Province, completed the volute hydraulic test.
The volute of the station, designed to operate at a pressure of 12.24 MPa, demonstrated remarkable resilience during the test, enduring a maximum pressure of 18.36 MPa for a full 30 minutes.
The test results, based on comprehensive monitoring across the entire volute structure and associated pipelines, confirmed that all parameters met the design specifications flawlessly, with no leaks or irregularities detected.
The Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station boasts the world's highest hydraulic head of 724 meters and features four units, each with a capacity of 425 MW, culminating in a substantial total installed capacity of 1,700 MW.
Following the completion of the volute hydraulic test, the first unit of the station will move on to continuous concrete pouring, aiming to reach the generator level by October 2024.
