CTG supports local communities in expanding market for Wushan plums in Hong Kong
Date: 2024-08-06
Recently, some 1,800 kg of Wushan crisp plums freshly harvested in Wushan County, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, arrived in Hong Kong. This marked the first time the fruit was sold to Hong Kong under a fully self-operated model.
To extend the shelf life of the fruit, CTG helped the local communities by constructing a nitrogen packaging workshop in Wushan County in 2023. The facility enables efficient sorting, packaging and cold storage for plums right at where they are harvested, thus ensuring maximum freshness and quality.
Moreover, in 2023, CTG supported the local communities by investing in the construction of storage facilities, cold chain logistics, and trading platforms for the citrus and crisp plum industries in nine villages across Wushan County.
These infrastructure projects were aimed at boosting the development of local featured industries and effectively expanding the market for agricultural products, ensuring that the fresh fruits from Wushan County can reach more consumers.
